My friend Wes came by today to
show me the new (used) bike he just
bought. It is a high end road bike, weighs
15 lbs at the most. He needed to make adjustments
to seat height and add pedals so I told him to bring
it by after the adjustments so I could ride it. He
did just that so I took it for a ride around the park.
That got me excited so I took off on my own bike
for a 31 mile ride. There was lots of wind today and
for some reason it seemed like I was riding against
the wind both going and returning home.

After returning home the part I've been waiting
for to hook a 4 gallon propane tank to our system
had arrived. I connected the smaller tank which
meant I could call Arizona Propane and tell them
to come pick up their 120 gallon tank. I did this
because they charge a $50 tank rental each year
and charge a service fee plus more than $6 per
gallon for propane when I can get it myself
for $3.30/gallon. We no longer heat with propane
so we use very little propane meaning the
smaller tanks may last several months between
filling.

Laundry day for me which took much
of the day. The rest was used to make May
reservations in California Elks Lodge RV parking.
We are returning to Oregon along the Pacific Ocean
from Petaluma north.

I decided this would be the day I would
disconnect the huge propane tank which
costs $50/year rent and use one of my own
smaller tanks. I thought I had all the parts needed
to connect the smaller tank but I didn't. Most of my
afternoon was driving to three hardware stores looking
for the part I needed.

But, none of the stores I visited had this part.
I thought, "who could I go to next?"
Amazon was the answer. Yes, they had the part
but sold two in a package where I only needed one.
I had no choice, they will be delivered Saturday.

This was an errand day. Started with
getting drinking water at Water Street Station.
Next, I check with the Elks Lodge East about my
transfer of membership to their club. Next, a car wash
ending with a visit to Costco but only found a rare
item, doggie poop bags. It was another windy day.

Friday: March 7, 2025

I have been counting down the days
to March 7 for a strange reason, new, high tech,
hearing aids. I have owned my current hearing aid for
8 years and they are helpful. But these new aids make the
old ones seem like the trumpet which my great grandmother used
to stick in her ears. At Costco, I got fuel and dropped
the car off for a tire rotation. Gwen had also given me a
grocery list for Costco. Before my visit to Costco
I stopped at Water Street to refill my five gallon jugs with water.
After Costco I came home and enjoyed the rain.
