December 31, 2011: No rain on
this last day of 2011
on our section of
the Oregon Coast. We
are looking forward to
walks on the beach.

December 30, 2011: Our first
day of rest since leaving Verdi. It
rained all night and most of the morning. Still, the Oregon coast
promises some nice beach walking
days ahead. Both Gwen and I are
trying to recover from congestion
we may have picked up from
the grand kids.

December 29, 2011: We arrived at
the southern end of the Oregon coast. Our first stop was at Mattie's Pancake House in Brookings, a very nice breakfast location. Then on to Fred Meyer for some wet weather clothes and boots. From there we drove north but by the time we arrived at our final Oregon Coast destination, I was too tired to set up our Internet dish.

December 28, 2011: A travel day from Verdi, Nevada to Crescent City, California. Without looking at a map, we choose the LONG route and drove at least 100 miles out of our way. We saw some very scenic California country but would have preferred the faster route.

for an early morning
departure tomorrow.

take care of Chloe and Noah
this afternoon while Ben and
Kim took the afternoon for
themselves.
