On this Valentines Day we joined with
Gary and Jeanne to go to one of their
favorite restaurants. It's a new one they found
recently. Hops Bar and Grill is the name. They were packed
with basketball fans since the University of Arizona
basketball team was playing Texas Tech. UofA has not
lost a game in the last 18 and ranked #1 while
Texas Tech is ranked #16. The game went into
overtime and Texas Tech won on UofA turf. No doubt a shock
to the UofA team and to their fans. Maybe this was
something UofA needed since they were probably
thinking it would be any easy win against #16. The
food at Hops was very good and we will certainly
visit again sometime.

This has been a wild day. We ran out of propane from our
40 lb tank. It lasted five months because we only use it
for our cook stove and for the clothes dryer. Costco has the
cheapest propane so I took it to Costco. While I was waiting
in line I slowly remembered the tank was about to expire.
I checked and it was one month past expiration. They
refused to fill it. I called the nearest propane dealer to
learn how much for re-certification, $75. How much for a
new tank, $145. Re-certification is good for five years while
a new tank is good for ten years. I decided on the new tank.
When I reached the dealer their "new tank" was dated
2023 so it was already 3 year old. I wasn't going to pay a
new tank price and get only 7 years. I already knew that
Amazon had the tanks for $140 minus my 5% discount and
it would be delivered tomorrow. I ordered from Amazon.
When I arrived home I hooked up a smaller tank to our line
because I wanted to bake some muffins and cook some
vegetables. This time I followed a recipe and the cranberry-
walnut muffins tasted better than my first try. In the
photo below we have no cooling rack so I turned them
upside down. Click the photo to see them top side up.

My biggest adventure today was a shopping
trip to Costco, a bakery and grocery store. I enjoy
walking the isles at Costco looking for treasures in
addition to filling my grocery list. Our usual bakery
has sold out of the bread I wanted so I tried a different
bakery and ended up with Marbled Rye for Gwen.
The grocery store was a bust because they didn't have
what I was looking for.

I worked on a small project
today. It should have been quick
but, as small projects sometimes go, this
one took much longer than it should. It
was a simple board with coat hooks to
attach on the edge of my closet. But that
board needed to be routered, then stained,
then a tiny split needed to be glued. Hooks needed
to be added, it all took time. By evening it was
mounted to the wall.

Super Bowl Sunday. The Seahawks
didn't give the Patriots a chance. Both
defenses did well but Seahawks were able to
get field goals and one touchdown. Patriots
were held to one touchdown.
