October 3, 2010: All my cycle
training paid off today. I had to
ride my bike 61 miles to a
meeting at 5,600 feet in the
Sierras. There was a food
reward
at the top.

October 2, 2010: Since the first of September we have looked forward to Saturday because that's college football day. We don't get TV because the trees block the satellite signal but we DO get satellite radio and all the good college games. Tonight we are listening to two games, Boise State Broncos vs New Mexico State in Las Cruces, New Mexico. It's a one sided game. We are also listening to the Oregon Ducks struggling with Stanford in Eugene, Oregon. Oregon has turned over the football three times and Stanford scored each time. Oregon is still only one touchdown behind at the half. You must have a good imagination when listening to the description of football action. In another month, we'll be able to watch football again.

day of our last month as camp hosts.
It's a long paragraph but has some
insights you may not have
thought about.

September 30, 2010: We have a problem light fixture in our bathroom. For some reason it uses up bulbs. I keep putting off taking it apart to see if there is a problem but I've found a temporary solution. I found a great source for 12 volt bulb CHEAP.

September 28, 2010: The college course I teach has begun. I have 23 students but they have two weeks to rearrange their schedules so about 10 - 15% usually drop the class during that time. Sometimes I get late registrations too. I'd rather not have that many students since it is difficult to communicate with everyone who has questions in a short time period. If you missed my discussion of the hourly wage to teach this course, it's here.

September 27, 2010: I've added
some positive stories of
the campers who visit our
