August 30, 2009: This drive south started as a clear, very warm day but as we drove south toward the Bitterroot Mountains, we met thunderstorms with hail moving to the north.

August 29, 2009: Gwen did the laundry today while I read a Louis L'Amour novel. We will be on the road tomorrow heading south from Montana toward Idaho.

August 28, 2009: Gwen spent the day with Kathy at yarn shops and other errands in Kalispell. I fixed the furnace by finding a loose wire and repaired the shower door.

August 27, 2009: We visited Glacier National Park today. We are spending only one day at the park but we still had enough time to drive to the top of Logan Pass and do two hikes.
