June 13, 2010: We visit Chaco
Canyon National Historic Park
about 60 miles north of our
campsite. We had to drive
on 20 miles of dirt roads
to reach Chaco Canyon and
got home too late to do
anything with the Webpage.
Check tomorrow for a
posting of the photos.

June12, 2010: This was a slow
day, notice the drop in
temperature. Gwen, Morgan
and I went on a hike into
Bluewater Creek Canyon
but from the opposite direction
looking to connect the two
trails. Morgan enjoyed the
trip be we couldn't find a
route without wading. Still,
we took nearly two hours
exploring. This has been our
first day with
comfortable tempertures.

June 11, 2010: We visited El Morro National Monument where historic
travelers carved their names,
statements, animals and poems
into the sandstone cliffs. This was
a destination point for travelers
due to the water collected at
the base of one of the cliffs. It
was also the site of an ancient
Atsinna Pueblo.

June 10, 2010: Morgan and I took
a hike to Bluewater Dam
and then to Bluewater Creek
Canyon. We viewed both for
the first time. Morgan
particularly likes the creek.

June 9, 2010: I got the refrigerator part but haven't installed it yet because it's too hot. I'm not convinced this part is the problem so glad it was cheap; I don't mind having an extra. I did read the owner's manual and found this line: "When you operate the refrigertor on propane gas at altitudes higher than 5500 feet above sea level: You may experience reduced cooling performance of the refrigeator." We are at 7420 feet and experiencing "reduced cooling performance". I'm not giving up, however. I also downloaded several pages from the service manual which suggest things to check. I think I'll do it all tomorrow morning, or when it gets cool again (maybe October ... that's a joke).

it's difficult to get to

June 7, 2010: This was a challenging day because we are having problems with our refrigerator. After talking with a repair person I've ordered the part we replaced two years ago and hope that solves the problem. It should arrive in a couple of days then we will know. After dealing with the refrigerator, we made our first visit to Gallup, NM, saw a movie and took ourselves to dinner.
