Am I a fair-weather cyclist?
I hope not but the
weather has been great
the last couple of days
so I've been on the
road for a couple of
rides. One of my
favorites is to historic
Oakland, Oregon.

Tonight was the first
meeting of the Umpqua
Velo Cycling Club. I learned
I'm going to have to get
serious about getting
into cycling shape.

Unfortunately, I must get
serious about the spring quarter at
the community college where I instruct using the
Internet. The spring quarter does not begin for
another month, however, I must change textbooks for the new spring class, that means writing all new instructions, study guides, assignments, exams, discussion questions and outcome goals. It will take MANY hours of preparation, usually 300 hours or more. So I've been working a little at a time but now I must spend most of the day preparing the new course as well as winding down the current course. That's great, you are thinking because you get PAID for all those hours of preparation. WRONG! For those who think teachers are over paid, I get paid NOTHING for preparation. I've discussed this before so click the link to read that discussion.
