October 14, 2010: Today was a grocery and laundry run into Nevada City. This was likely our last visit to NC for a very long time. Hwy 49 between Indian Valley Campground and NC is narrow, often busy, with many sharp turns and two major climbs and descents which uses up lots of diesel. It's only about 30 miles but takes nearly an hour due to the mountain driving conditions. Still, we found a grocery store we like with our favorites and the laundramat we found today was clean and reasonably priced. We expect to be leaving Indian Valley in about ten days by driving over Yuba Pass toward Reno, Nevada not toward Nevada City or the California central valley until early November.
