Saturday, May 16, 2026:
Got a few things replaced and improved on this rainy
day. The Teton has two furnaces. The bedroom furnace
thermostat looks like the photo at left. Probably the
2004 original. I replaced it with a modern Honeywell
digital. Click the left photo to see the replacement.
The Teton has two large propane tanks but no easy way to
know their level so I added gauges. Click on that photo
to see the TV I installed in the bedroom. The story is:
I purchased the TV at St. Vincent de Paul charity shop
for $32. As it turned out, it is identical to a TV we
donated to the Bouse Community Center many years ago. I
intended to use it for DVD viewing but did not like the
quality of the video from the old DVD player. So I moved
the TV to the bedroom and intend to install a Roku stick
for streaming. |

Tuesday, May 12, 2026: My morning
began early. I met with George (the previous owner) at 7:30 when
we drove together to the Oregon DMV in Roseburg to transfer the
title from George to Gwen and Me. That literately took only 5
minutes and $101. George asked to visit Lowes for a quart of
paint. While George was getting paint, I bought screen door
material and a door protector. That set my project for the rest
of the day. I made a mistake by shutting Dave inside the Teton
before he recognized it as his new home. So he tore the screen
wanting out. There aren't many flies and wasps yet but I want
the screen door repaired before they arrive. Click each photo

Sunday, May 10, 2026: I
invited Glen and Kenny Lee to dinner tonight so I needed
to get a few thing finished before they arrived. I
quickly learned I needed a second set of hands to get
the new LED light fixtures installed. The old florescent
lamps did not produce much light and were very hot when
on. These new LED lights produced a lot of light and
cool in use. Glen helped by holding the fixture in place
while I set the screws. Click that photo to see all four
LED fixtures installed. The AC intake filters needed to
be cleaned. I rinsed out the dirt. Click that photo to
see how well they cleaned up. |

May 5, 2026: This was a
long hard day. The Teton got moved to my lot. It took
Bud and Anita an hour to get it situated just right to
match the awning placement. Then it had to be leveled.
Once everything was set, Gary and Travis began
installing the overhead panels. I would clean the panel
then deliver to Travis and Gary. They would secure
the panels then move to the next. They worked fast, took
about 3 hours to finish the entire project. Randy picked
up the steps and delivered in front of the door.

Monday, May 4, 2026:
George and I installed the awning posts today. They are
anchored to the base blocks and to the block wall
exactly as they were mounted on George's lot.
Tomorrow morning, my friend, Bud will hitch to the Teton
with his Ford F350 dually and bring it around to my lot.
The Teton must be exactly 10' 4" from the block wall.
Whoever installed the block wall did not get it parallel
to the concrete pad. I have marked where the Teton
wheels must be with a neon pink tape. The overhead line
in the photo is the line Dave is connected to so he has
some freedom of movement. It does not appear it will be
in the way of the awning installation. Click both photos

Saturday, May 2, 2026: I
placed the five base blocks today for the awning support
posts. Each block must be in the exact location as they
were when located on George's lot. But the blocks from
front to back can't be level because we want the rain
water to flow downhill to the street. After placing the
first block (left photo) I stretched a line to the lost
block location so that each block toward the rear would
be a little higher. Now the rain water will flow toward
the street. George will drill each block for the bolts
to attach the posts. Click both photos for another view.

|
| Friday, May 1, 2026: Five
holes must be dug for the bases to support the five
poles supporting the awning. I have pavers, a drain pipe
and a treated 2 x 4" in the way of a simple hole. George
will deliver the base blocks tomorrow so I can know how
deep to make the holes and how wide to make the cut in
the 2 x 4". Travis will have to drill the holes
for the bolts and then the reassembly of the awning will
begin. |

Thursday, April 30, 2026: A lot of
help showed up today to remove and move the awning. I removed
all the screws anchoring the panels to the support beams. Travis
did all the roof top work, Gary removed the panels and handed
them to George who put them onto his trailer. With all the help,
it only took 2.5 hours to have everything into the trailer. I
hope erecting the awning on my lot goes as quickly. Click each
of the photos for another view. |

Wednesday, April 29,
2026: So it begins. A new to us RV will need to be
improved to match our lifestyle. This first thing is
simple. The Teton had no table for meals or for computer
although I may shop for a computer desk some day in the
future. I have notice a few things in my first walk
through which I would want to improve/change. Anyway, I
found this table on Facebook Marketplace and picked it
up today. I paid too much but it is the style I like.
The chair fabric was dirty so I gave them a shampoo. My
intention is to reupholster them but I would want Gwen
to chose the fabric. Until then, the shampoo will have
to do. Notice Dave watching from the backseat. Click
both photos for another view. |
