Preparing for Satellite Internet |
Several weeks back I wrote about my research into Internet Satellite. A few weeks ago we decided to make a choice to go with DirecWay and with an installer, Glen Simpson who happens to be traveling in our part of Oregon. |

The system should be installed today and tomorrow (September 11 and 12, 2005) so I'm getting the dish ready by personalizing. I had considered painting the dish but I'm just going to try vinyl letters first. I had a local sign shop make the lettering for me. This cost only $8. |

The paper backing must be peeled from the lettering, above. Then pressed to the dish, right. I used the slick surface of the backing paper to press the lettering to the dish. |

I then pulled the carrier paper at a 180° angle to release the letters from the paper. The final step was pressing the letters again to the dish with the slick |

side of the backing paper. Pretty cool, huh? I'll let you know how the rest of the installation goes. |
