RV Camping on the Klamath River |

One of the parks we explored to try our full time RV experiment is this wonderful park in Northern California just south of the Oregon-California border along Interstate 5. This park is actually about 6 miles off the Interstate which is our preference. Jim and Kathy have designed this resort with the attitude of "build it and they will come".
The park is built on the Klamath River just for those who love fishing and want a high-end RV experience. Jim invited us for a weekend to explore the park and talk about working with the staff. As it turned out we were the only campers during February in the park. The other units you see in the photos are RV rentals.
The park caters to the high-end motor home with all the parking spaces along the river designed for motor homes (utilities are on the wrong side for trailers and fifth wheels). Even on the opposite side of the park, you are still less than 100 feet from the river. Jim brags about the year-round fishing in the river but you can also enjoy rafting and river kayaking. For flat-water kayaking and boating, the Iron Horse Reservoir is only 1 mile from the park. The park is new and very clean. Jim and Kathy have done everything first class. He does not have wireless Internet for the park but we were parked close enough to the office to pickup a weak wireless connection to send and receive email. The plans are to build a true destination resort with a lodge on the mountain overlooking the river and RV park (see the first photo above). If you are into outdoor recreation, especially fishing, this would be an excellent week-long choice. I guess this all sounds like an advertisment for the park but it is truely a nice quiet location where relaxing is the priority.
