Winter RV In Gold Beach

We purchased our 2001 King of the Road 5th wheel in January 2005. After a couple months of outfitting it to our liking and fixing what needed to be fixed (roof & brakes) we decided to take a test drive to our favorite Oregon ocean spot - Ireland's RV Park in Gold Beach.

First obstacle to conquer would be Hwy 199, snaking its way along the Smith River. Dale was new at pulling a fifth wheel, but a pro at pulling trailers. Our only concern were the narrow roads winding around the rocky mountain the road was carved out of. There were some close calls but we did get our rig through without one ding to either the pickup or the 5th wheel!

This winter (February) at the beach was balmy, blue skied and void of fog in the mornings. The waves were huge - surfing quality. We enjoyed 4 days here.

Ireland's RV Park has full hookups, a short walk to the beach and friendly mangers. Gold Beach offers shopping, jet boat rides up the Rogue River, good eating places and a pet shop that offers home-baked dog biscuts. We love this little coastal town!
